Bell Appeal, the Bay Area’s rockin’est handbell ensemble, is looking for a conductor. The group
plays concerts, weddings, festivals, and various other engagements.

Attributes we’re looking for:

• Some experience in conducting (handbells or choral or instrumental groups – we can bring you up to speed about the bells if you bring us some experience in conducting)
• A love for rock and popular music in addition to the more traditional repertoire
• Creativity and thinking outside the box for interesting concert production
• A sense of humor and fun—we’re pretty much allergic to tyrants
• The ability to arrange and/or compose music and the ability to play another instrument is a plus but not required

What we can offer you:

• A small stipend per rehearsal and performance will at least cover your travel expenses plus a bit more (to be determined)
• A committed and experienced group of musicians playing five octaves of bells and other instruments anxious for a leader—NO DIVAS ALLOWED
• The occasional glass of wine and/or snack at/after rehearsals
• Someone else will worry about getting gigs, logistics, production, planning, finances, marketing and other things that conductors would rather not have to do—for you it’s all about the music!
