Hi all,
I work at a relatively new arts-oriented, private, non-profit school in San Francisco (founded in March 2010), and we are always on the lookout for possible sources of funding. For those of you with experiences in music and arts-related non-profits, are there any resources or experiences you can share? Have you found any particularly good grant sources, for example?
Thanks!

I've done a lot of grant research these past few months and have had the most success by signing up for listservs and newsletters, googling key words, and searching on the foundation directory online. The Foundation Directory Online (http://fconline.foundationcenter.org/) allows you to search for funders in a variety of fields, including geographic region and primary initiatives. I have also found that it's useful to pay attention to other organizations that do similar work to see who has funded them in the past. I don't have any single grant source that I love but have found instead that the best way to stay on top of funding opportunities is keep an eye on what's out there.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tips! FC online looks like a very helpful resource.
