I am a native of Little Rock, Arkansas. I received a bachelor's of arts degree in music performance from Morehouse College. I am a two-year alum of City Year LR/NLR, and currently a graduate student at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service. Additionally, I am a youth minister and minister of music at a local church.
What does music mean to you?
Music is the catalyst for expression and worship of my life to God. I started young in the 3rd grade playing cello...and have been exposed to greatness through music...ultimately adding to that one talent with a variety of musical expressions
Why is the music-based service movement important to you?
I am an alum of City Year, where I co-led a team of change agents to tutor, mentor, and inspire young elementary students. However, our focus was to improve their academic standing in school, but I believe that a holistic approach to education is important. Math should be coupled with Music, English and Creative Writing coupled with Art, and Science coupled with Physical Education. It is an integral component of our young generations educational success.
My service mission is to embody human expression and inspiration through music; develop musical student and advance music in America; promote scholarship, manly deeds and give back to the communities that have given so much to me by showing love to all mankind. To glorify God through my living on this earth.
