- About me:
- My name is Liam Biner. I live in Chicago, Illinois, working at Martyrs' - a premier music venue in the city.
I play percussion, guitar, piano, and bass guitar, and I have a very strong understanding of audio engineering principles. In addition, I have studied music theory and history, and not only have a powerful knowledge of these subjects, but also a genuine predilection for them as well.
- What does music mean to you?
- I have been listening to music since before I could speak. My parents made an unparalleled effort to expose my siblings and me to a vast variety of music, both Western and non-western. They also gave their children the highest chance to excel by (in anything) making available the necessary resources to do so. Though they would never force anything upon their kids, their raw excitement and sheer enthusiasm for certain subjects, music especially, made my decision to pursue a life/career in music an easy one.
- Why is the music-based service movement important to you?
- It's combination of music/community service seems to be one of the most necessary things that we can do during this time of economic and scholastic restraint. There needs to be people that are willing to slow down and educate the younger generations and less-privileged communities about music and art.

- I aim to educate the younger generations on all aspects of music that are deemed important by the Music National Service, and to do so with the highest regard for these generations' prolonged musical edification and appreciation.
