I was born and raised in Virginia and moved out to the California Central Coast after college graduation to take an AmeriCorps position with the Red Cross. I have since moved to San Francisco and have just accepted an AmeriCorps VISTA position with the Center for Music National Service! I love hiking and rock-scampering, coffee-drinking and cafe exploring, and absorbing the vibrant Bay Area.
What does music mean to you?
I began playing violin when I was in Kindergarten and I have continued to play in music groups, some classical and others folksy. Music has introduced me to numerous friends and important mentors. I have an eclectic taste in music, love pandora, and enjoy all sorts of live music.
Why is the music-based service movement important to you?
Because music is powerful and it is important for everyone to have access to its restorative powers and creative-juice developing nature!
