When you know the joys of good living your world opens up, the sky is bluer, the grass is greener and life becomes simple but elegant. I love a good red with almost everything and a good beer with my hot dog. I don't ski and more than likely never will. From time to time; I have entertained the idea sky diving. I've traveled about a third of the world and have desires for much more travel. I can count my true friends on two hands and have never met anyone I could not converse with. I respect knowledge and learning. I am an ARTIST and I have known this sense the age of thirteen. I Know the difference between price and value and will take the later every time. I cry when I witness children being successful. I feel that the family is the most important governmental body in our culture and the break up of a family de-values our society just that much less. I tell you all of these things because they are some of the things that are closest to my heart.

What does music mean to you?
My words:
Undoubtedly, the world would be a better place with people who solve problems critically, apply their skills and knowledge to real life situations and who think outside the box and their comfort zones. Community based education is the vessel that best prepares students for the future. Providing an experienced based education fosters self-confidence, self-discipline and collaboration. It is the pipeline for establishing a sense of purpose and for promoting social justice.
Community based learning comprises schools and a variety of organizations and agencies in a partnership with the goals of a stronger community and a better world for all. What better way to shape social justice than through the arts? The view through the lens of a camera, the written word, a stroke of a paintbrush on canvas, the sound of music and rhythms and the flow of motion in a dance all come from self-expression. What is learned from these experiences are the skills needed to combat the ills of our society? These and other artistic activities create the true voices needed to break down the barriers of class, race, ethnicity, religion, gender, hatred, violence and intolerance. Given the tools, students can become agents for social justice and help to combat prejudice, bias, discrimination and stereotyping to ensure democracy and freedom for all.
Why is the music-based service movement important to you?
