Profile Information

About me:
I am a non-professional vocalist. I have performed in choruses, choirs, and the theater. I have a graduate degree in arts administration, and most recently worked at a arts center in Cambridge, MA that promotes diversity through the arts. I currently relocated to San Francisco to work as an MNS VISTA Fellow and will be supporting the movement through development work.
What does music mean to you?
Music represents family and comfort for me. It has always been an integral part of my life. My father is a singer, who would always sing around the house, and my older brother was constantly jotting down lyrics on whatever piece of scrap paper he could find.

Growing up music always surrounded me, and I found myself naturally drawn to performing. This carried on through my high school and college years, where I would perform in choruses, musicals, and the theater. Music is such a driving force in my life, I decided to incorporate it into my career. I feel very lucky that I have been fortunate enough to make a living, while participating in something I love.
Why is the music-based service movement important to you?
This powerful movement resonates with me because it combines two of my life's passions...music & service. Using music as a way to serve the community and those in need is genius. Music naturally engages people and breaks down barriers, so what better way to reach those in need.
