Does anyone have any, and I stress ANY tips for helping a vocal student tame a naturally wild vibrato? Continue

Profile Information

About me:
I am a musician from southern NH. Mother of 5, college student and a general "over-comer" of things. :-) I am the lead singer of 3 fairly successful (locally) bands and have recently been offered a teaching position at a very popular music store. I stumbled upon this site while searching for lesson plan examples and thought I may benefit somehow in my search for teaching tools. That about sum's me up. :-)
What does music mean to you?
Music means freedom. Freedom to create, define or to be defined. Music has great power, whether it's known to the person it affects or not. Songs have memories, incidents and/or deep meanings forever attached to them. Lifelong stories can be told, history learned and set precedents for the future through just one song. Music means...no limit.
Why is the music-based service movement important to you?
Music has always been a part of my life and I know personally how having it in your life can help change things for the better. Helping others through and with the power of music is a cause worth supporting no matter what way you can contribute. In public schools, music is almost always the first thing to get cut and if there's a way to stop it, I want to be a part of it.

Writing Music

I cannot express how empowering the gift of creating music has been.  There is no better high than that of music, especially when it comes from inside of you... very much like flying--no, soaring!
