i'm a career marketing exec that has focused more and more on music in recent years. i moved to new orleans in 2005 with one mission - to play. these days i'm very busy with music. my fiancee, beth patterson, is a musician as well (and grammy-nominated) and our life is music. i'm primarily a guitarist and drummer with a number of bands and projects but have an understanding of keys and bass as well.
What does music mean to you?
music has opened many doors for me, and is now my life in new orleans. i've had so many wonderful experiences and met so many wonderful people through playing music. my family always supported my love for music, and some time spent living in jamaica in my teens changed my life.
Why is the music-based service movement important to you?
i would like to ensure that music is always passed on to as many young people as possible, and i think it's more important now then ever (and particularly here in new orleans). i'd like to share the positive effects and experiences that music has had in my life, and help my beloved city to recover and thrive.
to share music and the money positive benefits it provides in terms of education, socialization and more. to help new orleans in particular to rebuild and get stronger through music, its most important heritage.
