Profile Information

About me:
I'm a pianist, artist, service artist, creative person, friend, son, brother, public servant, crazy dancer, happy guy, and I am trying to make the world a happier, more creative, more ALIVE place. I'm passionate about helping people - especially young people - realize their unique human potential. Music is the gift that the higher power gave to me to do that with.
What does music mean to you?
Music gives me energy, it connects me to the universe, and it gives me a way to express my humanity and find where that humanity connects with other humanity. Music has made me a more joyful, a more loving, a more caring, and a more patient person.
Why is the music-based service movement important to you?
I'm strongly passionate about music and national service, having a background in both. So naturally, I'm a big believer in the music national service movement. The time for this movement has come. The Venezuelan music instructor Jose Abreu says the greatest crisis the world faces is a spiritual one, not an economic one. We face a crisis of spirituality and dehumanization. We face a crisis of too much wasted human potential. Too many young people are being told and convinced that they are not good enough, smart enough, brave enough. For too long, music and creativity - basic human instincts - have been withheld or discouraged by our schools, television sets, magazine advertisements, and neighbors. This is a movement to awaken every human being - man, woman, and child - and tell them we're ready to listen to them sing.

Good to hear from you. Things are going great at the hospital. We have an Art Expression Show coming up soon. I'll be playing, even some of the patients as well, and their art will be on exhibition and for sale. A little fundraiser. There is usually some pretty good artwork. You might want to come check it out. I can give you the date in a minute. Tell me when your doing something out in the community sometime. I would love to join.
